Fred the Legion took out the Parry Nissan Great Northern cheered on by over 2800 racing patrons at the Parry Nissan Family Race Day on Monday 9th June, 2008.

Bowen owner-breeder Greg Price had one of his greatest moments in racing when Fred the Legion took out the $100,000 Parry Nissan Great Northern Classic (1200).

History of the Parry Nissan Great Northern

The Dealership has had a long history with most of our sponsorships. Parry Nissan is associated with the Townsville Turf Club, where we sponsor the Golden Slipper of North Queensland - North Queensland's Richest Race - the "PARRY NISSAN GREAT NORTHERN 2YO CLASSIC", with prizemoney of $100,000. We are very proud that since its inception in 1990, this race and its associated sales has been the catalyst for the tremendous boost and interest in Thoroughbred Racing throughout North Queensland.
